Historic Foods approved by Food Lovers Britain and Heart of England Fine Foods – 20/03/09

Alan’s newly launched range of Historic Pickles and Chutneys have just been approved by Food Lovers Britain and Heart of England Fine Foods. All the ingredients and products used in the range have been grown and produced in Worcestershire, Warwickshire and Staffordshire, many using heritage seed to create these truly original products.

Alan Coxon’s Historic Food range has scooped another huge win - 06/02/09

Alan Coxon’s Historic Food range has again wowed judges winning the Midlands Innovation of the Year category for his Historic Food Range, following on from his success at the Excellence in Food and Drink Awards.

The 2009 Midlands Business Awards organiser Harj Sandher said this year’s competition had a large number of high quality entrants, so Alan was obviously delighted to have won. Digby, Lord Jones of Birmingham Kt, who was awarded the Lifetime achievement award, said the products “were outstanding, innovative and highly recommended”.

Alan’s new Historic Vinaigre range scoops the highest accolade in the catering industry - 26/01/09

Alan’s Historic Vinaigre range has recently won two top prizes at the prestigious Excellence in Food and Drink Awards hosted by Caterer and Hotelkeeper. The judges were so impressed with the three vinegars that they went straight to the top of the scoreboard and scooped the Innovation Award as well as the coveted Gold award, chosen from all of the category winners.

“I am over the moon to have won the two Awards for my Historic Vinaigre range. The range has been nearly 10 years in development requiring vast amounts of time and commitment to create something truly unique for kitchens and tables around the globe. The recognition by the panel of respected judges and peers within the food industry is fantastic.”

The products are also already receiving rave reviews from professionals around the world including 5 Michelin star restaurants in Paris and several world renowned hotels.

Touring the UK in Support of the Potato - 26/9/08

This November I'm travelling to Cardiff, Manchester, Glasgow and Southampton as part of a campaign to raise awareness of the humble potato.

There are over 800 potato varieties worldwide and over 80 varieties available in the UK, so you might be surprised that we are eating far fewer potatoes today than ever, as more people switch to rice and pasta as starchy carbohydrate alternatives.

Whilst I admit I love both rice and pasta, there is a beauty to the potato plus it is so healthy and so unbelievably versatile. So give the potato a chance!

Supporting Fair Trade - 26/09/08

I am delighted to be supporting the Divine Chocolate and Fair Trade in the build up to this year's National Chocolate Week.

I'm giving radio interviews across the country on the 13 th October to encourage more people to use Fair Trade chocolate and support the chocolate bean farmers and their families.

I have developed a recipe for a Chocolate and Raspberry Cake to support the week; I'm sure this delicious cake will be a real treat.

World Trade Fair, Paris - 26/09/08

October sees the launch of my Historic Vinaigre range of Ancient Greek , Roman and Ale-Gar vinegars at the World Trade Fair in Paris.

In addition to the three key products I am launching a selection of Historic Pickles.

Alan Scoops Unprecedented Double In International Recipe Awards - 14/07/08

Against strong competition from chefs throughout the world, Alan Coxon's 'Old English Lamb and Potato Pie' has been named The Best Potato Recipe In The World by the Peruvian Potato Council. Also given an Honourable Mention for his Potato and Celeriac Gratin (garnish), Alan is the only chef in the award's history to land two awards at the ceremony.

The judges were bowled over by Alan's dishes, despite working their way through several hundred other entries. Alan's "wonderful" recipes were also praised for their accessibility, being within reach for any level of chef.

To try the recipes yourself you'll have to watch out for Alan's forthcoming recipe book, due out later in the year.

Fancy Food Fair, New York - 14/07/08

Alan Coxon's acclaimed new Historic Food Range was given its American debut at the 54th Summer Fancy Food Show in New York.

The annual exhibition showcases speciality foods to thousands of the most influential buyers, distributors and media from within the specialist food industry in America.

Coxon, who was amongst the 5,000 exhibitors at the fair, received rave reviews for his Historic Vinaigres , and was delighted to be singled out: "Obviously I'm ecstatic at how much interest my vinegars have generated.   I believe I have a fantastic niche product for the whole of the Americas.   By launching my new range at this specialist fair in New York I hope to inspire the fine array of deli's and eateries this city has with some old and new ideas!".

Launching Fair Trade Chocolate in New York - 28/06/2008

Alan is pleased to announce that he will be assisting in the media launch of Fair Trade Chocolate in New York USA .

Alan will be taking some of America's top journalists on a culinary journey revealing the history and origination of chocolate whilst sampling the Divine product range.

Fairtrade is a strategy for poverty alleviation and sustainable development. Its purpose is to create a tool for development that ensures disadvantaged farmers and workers in developing countries get a better deal through the use of the international Mark.

Alan goes to Hollywood! - 17/04/2008

Alan Coxon has been chosen to judge at this year’s International Restaurant and Hotel Awards held in Beverly Hills, Hollywood. The Awards are considered to be the Oscars of the hospitality industry, and celebrates the chains and groups that go beyond industry standards.

The Awards will feature entries from 45 different countries as well as some of the best known hoteliers in the world, such as the Ritz-Carlton, Hilton Hotels, Marriott International and many more.

Coxon is honoured by the appointment to the salubrious panel of international judges and proud to represent the British arm for the Awards.

Voted in the Top 10 - 17/04/2008

In a recent poll by BBC Food, TV chef Alan Coxon was voted amongst the Top 10 TV Chefs of the World.
Commissioned by BBC Food, the poll canvassed opinions from 100 different countries, and puts Alan alongside 150 of the world’s most recognised TV chefs such as Jamie Oliver, Nigella Lawson, Gary Rhodes, Anthony Worrell Thompson, Ainsley Harriet, and Rick Stein.

Alan said, “There is a huge selection of big names in the line up, so I’m absolutely delighted to be included in the final top 10. It also gives me immense pleasure knowing that this vote was by the TV viewers from around the globe, and I would like to thank them deeply for their support.”.
