Back from Japan - 20/03/09
I have just returned from a fantastic trip to Tokyo. Needless to say the food was stunning and the cultural experience was different from anything I have encountered. I loved every second and whole heartedly recommend it. The Japanese people were a delight, the shopping outrageously good and the train service is nothing more than what dreams are made of!
I did have work to do whilst out there in the form of launching my Historic Vinegars and the new Historic Pickles and Chutneys. Whilst I was initially unsure how the Japanese market would respond to the range, I am delighted to say that they went down faster than a noodle in a bowl of miso!
The majority of people thought of my Ale-Gar as a good, healthy alternative to a soy sauce, while the Ancient Greek Vinaigre was a flavoursome alternative to rice wine vinegar.
The pickles were also a pleasant surprise and success, especially my Golden Roman Beetroot in Roman Vinaigre and the Luxury Organic Red Cabbage, as both of these could be incorporated within the Japanese diet and recipes.

Excellence in Food and Drink Awards - 26/01/09
If you have read my recent news it will be no surprised to find me blabbering on about my win at the Excellence in Food and Drink Awards.
I am over the moon to have won the two awards for my Historic Vinaigre range. The range has been nearly 10 years in development requiring vast amounts of time and commitment to create something truly unique for kitchens and tables around the globe. The recognition by the panel of respected judges and peers within the food industry is fantastic.
Whilst I was looking forward to the event with nervous anticipation having been shortlisted and nominated for the innovation award, it was a complete and utter shock to walk away with both the Innovation and coveted Gold Awards.

Awarding Winning Recipe! - 14/07/08
My recipe for 'Old English Lamb and Potato Pie' beat off competition from hundreds of international chefs to win the award for "Best Potato Recipe of The World". The awards, given out by the Peruvian Potato Council, are considered the highest tribute in the industry and I'm delighted to have been selected for the prize. As if that wasn't enough they also gave an Honourable Mention to my Potato and Celeriac Gratin (garnish), making me the first chef to win two awards at the competition!.
The main winning dish uses some of the best ingredients Britain has to offer like stunning quality Lamb, quality British potatoes, a creamy Colston Basset Stilton cheese and a splash of my own historic Ale-Gar to help set this dish above the global competition
Launching my range of Historic Vinaigres throughout the USA!
